Meet the Hidex Team: Service Manager Tobias Vogt
February 14, 2025
Tobias Vogt is a Service Manager based in Berlin, Germany. Over a remote call and a cup of afternoon coffee, we sat down with Tobias to discuss his role at Hidex and how he found his place on the team.
Tobias Vogt joined Hidex in December 2023, but his experience with Hidex instruments dates back to 2015. His deep knowledge of the Hidex 300 SL and Hidex 600 SLe models makes him an invaluable asset to both the company and its customers. This experience has given him invaluable insight into the reliability and precision of Hidex analyzers. On a Friday afternoon, we had a coffee and a Teams call with Tobias, connecting from Germany and Finland, to hear about his first year at Hidex.
What does the role of a Service Manager include?
As a Service Manager, Tobias oversees critical functions in Germany, including managing technical support, coordinating maintenance and repair operations, and ensuring Hidex instruments deliver consistent performance. He also provides service training, collaborates with the service team in Finland, and travels to customer sites.
When asked what enables him to excel in his role, Tobias credits his background in Chemical Engineering and his previous experience as a Chemical Technical Assistant. His hands-on knowledge of Hidex instruments in the laboratory has laid a strong foundation in terms of analyzer mechanics and software functionality.
What is Hidex’s value proposition?
The number of Hidex customers in Germany has steadily increased over the years. When asked why he believes this is the case, Tobias points to one key factor: prioritising customer service. Satisfied customers often share their experiences with peers in the industry, fuelling growth through word-of-mouth.
The rising adoption of Hidex instruments has also boosted the brand’s visibility in the European market. As older models approach the end of their lifecycle, laboratories increasingly choose Hidex as their replacement instrumentation.
What do you enjoy most about your job?
For Tobias, what stands out most about working at Hidex, is the company’s flexible and friendly culture.
“Hidex has a friendly and supportive environment,” Tobias Vogt shares.
He appreciates being able to seek help from colleagues when his workload is heavy and enjoys reciprocating that support when others need a helping hand. The hybrid work model also allows him to balance working remotely with office visits, tailored to his and his supervisor’s preferences.
But, what gives Tobias the greatest satisfaction is seeing the pride customers take in using Hidex instruments. It drives him, knowing that Hidex customers are making important scientific contributions—whether it be water testing or environmental fate studies, or countless other applications of liquid scintillation counting technology.
At Hidex, we believe the people behind the instruments are just as vital as the technology itself. Tobias’s journey exemplifies the passion for science, expertise, and commitment to teamwork that is important to us. It enables us to serve customers across continents and empower them to focus on what matters most.
